Bub Carrington showed some serious fire Monday, much to the delight of several Washington Wizards fans.
Carrington got into a heated argument with Toronto Raptors star RJ Barrett during their teams’ face-off at Scotiabank Arena. With just seconds left in the second quarter, Barrett drove to the basket and unsuccessfully tried to draw a foul on Carrington.
After complaining to the referee about the no-call, Barrett began jawing with Carrington as the halftime buzzer sounded. It’s unclear what the two were saying, but Carrington eventually dared Barrett to hit him.
The Wizards rookie gestured to his cheek and appeared to tell his Raptors foe to “go ahead” and strike him.
Several Wizards fans on X were glad to see the fire from Washington’s teenage point guard.
“I’ll be a Bub Carrington fan for the rest of my life,” one fan said.
“BUB CARRINGTON IS A MFEN DAWGGGG,” wrote a different fan.

Carrington was not the only Wizards rookie Barrett had beef with. The former No. 3 pick was also seen feuding with Kyshawn George in the first quarter.
Barrett did get the last laugh as the Raptors were able to pull off the 119-104 victory and get some revenge against the Wizards. Washington had beaten Toronto just two nights prior in a wild finish that included a potential Raptors game-winner that was waived off.
But with the Wizards trying to hold onto the the best lottery odds with a month left in the season, splitting 1-1 in Toronto isn’t so bad.
